There is still time, but it is running out.

The science is clear. We can protect the Antarctic Peninsula, krill and wildlife by making the
waters surrounding it a Marine Protected Area. Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) designate
parts of the ocean where human activities are limited or prohibited. In this way, they mitigate
threats of degradation, conserve biodiversity, and enforce a more sustainable approach to
fishery management.

The Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR) is currently discussing a proposal for a Marine Protected Area in the waters of the Antarctic Peninsula which seeks to help protect krill and the wildlife that depends on it.

But not everyone has agreed to this yet.

We need to support the teams at CCAMLR to ratify the proposal and save the Antarctic Peninsula.
